Frequently asked questions

Should I move out while my bathroom is being renovated?

If you have more than one bathroom, our team can renovate one at a time, saving you money on off-site accommodation. But as the bathroom will be unusable throughout the renovation, the situation can be a bit tricky for a single-bathroom home. To ease the inconvenience, we can make a temporary shower and toilet for you, but we would recommend moving out at least at the beginning of the project. For large-scale renovations, we suggest that you stay elsewhere during the renovation—after all, it’s no fun living in a construction site!

What is a good flooring material for the bathroom?

Porcelain is a popular choice because it is dense, hard and relatively less porous. It also offers great water and stain resistance. Other stylish and durable yet cost-effective options include tile, vinyl and rigid-core engineered wood.

Is it okay to use wooden planks for bathroom floors?

Hardwood fares better compared to other materials such as carpets, but wood is not your best option for bathroom flooring. Moisture is hardwood’s worst enemy, and your bathroom is easily the most humid area in the home. If you want to bring the charm and warmth of hardwood to your home, use engineered wood, as this material can hold up against moisture better.
